The Rise of Niche
Thinking about Niche real estate investment can just about make your head explode. We have no common definition or even common pronunciation! (Is it Neesh or Nitch???? Let's just leave that question alone.)
Merriam-Webster's dictionary doesn't really help. There, Niche is a recess in a wall as well as a supportive habitat for an organism. It's also an activity for which a person or thing is best fitted and a specialized market. So an investment manager can find their niche in niche!
During our Fall Conference in Orlando, we will have our first look at new subtypes within NCREIF's Property Database. Many of these subtypes have been described as Niche. Join us for the Rise of Niche out of the NCREIF database and for discussion, debate and analysis around these sectors - student housing, medical office, life science, single-family rental, data centers, cold storage - and more.
